About

Ranie Saidi, the founder of the Malay Cook Supper club, is a London-based recipe developer celebrating his Malaysian Malay heritage. His cooking is inspired by the everyday Malay dishes his grandmother, a wedding catering cook, made while he was growing up. 

Ranie cooks from the heart, bringing us those lesser known Malay dishes; so expect flavourful dishes you might not have tried before, cooked and presented in a family style as though you were eating in his Grandmother's kitchen!

"I first learned to cook by watching my late grandmother in her kitchen. Over the years, cooking has become my way of reliving those moments — a reminder of the joy it brings to me and to the people around me. For me, it’s about togetherness. It’s simple, humble home cooking, but sharing it makes it feel truly meaningful"

The centre piece of the menu is Nasi Dagang, a time-honored dish that brings together coconut-steamed layers of white, glutinous, and red rice alongside a hearty Gulai Chicken or Tofu Malay Curry - once enjoyed at dawn by coastal traders to fuel long sea journeys.

Ranie sells his Malay sauces through Delli Market and select stores, and hosts supper clubs at Soho House, Curry Club London, Dusty Knuckle and the Boundary Shoreditch. He was also a guest recipe creator for Tastyuk social and has been featured in the Financial Times and Olive Magazine.

*Tickets are non refundable but can be transferred to another person.

*Please note that we will serve sharing plates family style, so be prepared to share the food with your table. Due to this all people in the same company who want to sit and eat together need to book together or email us and let us know who’s included in your group. 

* There will be a photographer documenting the event on the night during a short limited time for promotional purposes. Please inform a member of staff if you don't want to be photographed.
